Largemouth Bass 8# to 9#
Here is a huge bass my wife caught on a real
night crawler using a split shot rig. Early on I
read the book Lunkers Love Night Crawlers
and it was very informative on all seasons from
spawning to schooling on the underwater points
in the summer and ending with fall patterns.
We were fishing on a small reservoir and this fish
picked up the lure several times and dropped it
before she was able to get a hook in it. This fish
was coming fast straight off the bank and under
the boat. We have seen this many times with
better sized fish. It's like they know! She did the
right thing and buried the rod deep in the water
as I pulled the motor.
Big fish don't bite all that often and will test you
to the limit. Be ready for the tricks they will try.
Tip of the Day: Carry the size net you want your
fish to be.
See you on the water.
